Course overview

This course allows qualified physiotherapists to specialise in one of the following:

  • Continence and Pelvic Health 
  • Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
  • Sport Physiotherapy

Selecting from a range of specialised higher-level units, you will study clinical management, examining the theories and techniques of physiotherapy practice. You will also study models of service delivery, current developments in physiotherapy care, promotion of health and prevention of disease and dysfunction in the client group.

Clinical practice is a significant component of this course. During your placement, you will detail a variety of case histories and evaluate each as a reflective practitioner.

Please note: Participation is obligatory in laboratory classes, which require appropriate disrobing when acting as clients in the peer group and physically manipulating patients, including lifting and supporting people with disabilities.

What you will study

To complete the Master of Clinical Physiotherapy, you must complete 200 credit points.

Complete 200 credit points from the following

  • Continence and Pelvic Health Major
  • Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Major
  • Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy Major

Entry requirements

Different pathway options depend on your level of work and educational experience.

  • A bachelor's degree in physiotherapy or equivalent, plus at least two years of relevant clinical experience.
  • You must be a registered physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia or be eligible for limited registration for postgraduate training in Australia.

You will need to provide evidence of your successful completion of an approved first aid (CPR) course.

You will also need to provide additional information with your application.

English language requirements

Fees and FEE-HELP

Average 2025 first-year fee: $33,522 (domestic full-fee paying place)

All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of 100 credit points (normally four units) per semester or 200 credit points (normally eight units) per year.

A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:

  • The number of units studied per term.
  • The choice of major or specialisation.
  • Choice of units.
  • Credit from previous study or work experience.
  • Eligibility for government-funded loans.
