What you will study
To qualify for the award of Master of Midwifery Practice (Advanced Clinical), students must complete 180 credit points consisting of:
- 30 core credit points
- 30 elective credit points
- 60 core choice pathway credit points
- 60 core choice specialisation credit points
Core subjects
Complete the following subjects:
- Academic Integrity Module (0 credit points)
- First Nations Perinatal Health (15 credit points)
- Research and Evidence in Midwifery (15 credit points)
Elective subjects
Complete a total of 30 credit points from the following subjects:
- Advanced Health Assessment (15 credit points)
- Community Child Health (15 credit points)
- Nurturing Child and Family (15 credit points)
- Research in Nursing and Midwifery (30 credit points)
Entry requirements
Prerequisites
- Successful completion of an Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
- Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a midwife.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Credit for previous study is the recognition of prior study or learning that can be counted towards a qualification. This can reduce the number of subjects required to complete your course. The amount of credit received depends on the level and relevance of your previous study and the number of subjects completed.

Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you only need to pay some of your tuition fees. The student contribution amount is the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
