Prerequisites

To apply for candidature, you must complete an Australian Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) with an honours year and at least an H2A result in the relevant discipline.

  • A Bachelor's degree without honours degree strengthened by additional qualifications or the demonstrated possession of research skills or publications of an exceptionally meritorious nature may be approved by the BGR as an acceptable basis for admission to candidature. Some additional preliminary studies may need to be undertaken.

The department or school in which you seek enrolment must be able to provide appropriate facilities, resources and supervision for your chosen area of research.

Selection criteria

  • Applicants must be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). The following conditions must be met to gain admission into a Master's by research degree: a) you must meet the minimum entry requirements for the degree; AND b) the department or school in which you seek enrolment must be able to provide appropriate facilities, resources and supervision for your chosen area of research.

So that you know, meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee a place offer. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and limited places may be available.
