This two-year full-time course covers the science, chemical composition and application of medication, how medication impacts the human body and how to apply scientific theory to the clinical reasoning and evaluation of an individual patient's medication.
This course has been specially designed to help bring you up to speed with the latest industry theories, research and innovations quickly and efficiently and eventually provide you with the knowledge, skills and qualifications required to become an officially registered and respected UC Pharmacy graduate.

What you will study
To earn the Master of Pharmacy course, students must complete 48 credit points, equivalent to 16 units. Each unit is worth three credit points.

Entry requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- A completed bachelor's degree in any discipline with a credit or higher average; AND
- A minimum of one unit (subject) of degree level (or higher) study in five of the following six disciplines - chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.
English language requirements
There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible, you must have an overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no band score below 7.0. Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have previous studies or professional work experience that is relevant to your intended field of study at UC, you can gain credit towards your degree. This reduces the number of units you must take to complete your course, meaning you could finish your studies sooner and save money too.

Career outcomes
As the aging population continues to grow globally, the demand for qualified and skilled pharmacists who can also engage with patients across all demographics is expected to increase. UC Master of Pharmacy graduate will enter this market with the benefit of having been trained in a smaller, more personal, learning environment resulting in each student receiving a higher level of mentored education.
What this means is that UC Master of Pharmacy graduates are industry-respected and will be more than adequately prepared for a variety of career options in either private or government pharmaceutical organisations.
Alternatively, graduates will also have the option to gain further qualifications by returning to university at a later date to continue their studies.

Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.
Your student contribution amount is:
- Calculated per the unit you're enrolled in.
- Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
FEE-HELP loans are available to assist eligible full-fee paying domestic students with the cost of a university course.
