Master of Organisational Psychology

  • Delivery: Face to Face
  • Study Level: Postgraduate
  • Duration: 24 months

Master the intricate dynamics of the workplace to empower employee wellbeing and drive organisational success.

Course overview

The Master of Organisational Psychology program equips you for a career in organisational psychology by focusing on essential skills such as critical analysis, problem-solving, communication, consultation and organisational change.

Organisational psychology aims to understand behaviour in workplace settings by systematically studying individual, group and organisational processes. The program utilises a "scientist-practitioner" approach, where you will first seek to comprehend behaviour within employment contexts and then develop techniques and skills that promote employee well-being and enhance organisational effectiveness.

Throughout the program, you will acquire knowledge and skills applicable to developing an organisation's human resources, ultimately enhancing motivation, performance and job satisfaction. Specific skills you will develop include creating effective candidate selection systems, designing and delivering training programs, implementing organisational change, structuring jobs and organisations and training executives, managers and supervisors.

You will build your professional confidence through supervised clinical practice, which includes 1,000 hours of placements across various workplace settings. Upon graduation, you will possess the necessary training to meet registration requirements in counselling and mental health, along with the specialised knowledge needed to enter the PsyBA organisational psychology registrar program.

Commonwealth Supported Places

The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.

If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay some of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.

Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

Your student contribution amount is:

  • Calculated per unit you're enrolled in.
  • Depending on the study areas they relate to.
  • Reviewed and adjusted each year.

HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
