Course overview
The Graduate Certificate in Nursing Informatics Leadership at Victoria University develops specialist skills for registered nurses working with digital health systems, information technology and healthcare improvement. You will explore how nursing informatics can support safer care, improve clinical workflows and strengthen the effective use of information in nursing practice.
Throughout the course, you will examine nursing informatics, leadership and management, quality improvement and innovation. You will develop skills in evaluating information systems, supporting digital healthcare implementation and leading technology-driven improvements in clinical settings.
Delivered 100% online through VU Online’s Block Model, the course is studied part-time over a minimum of eight months. You complete one seven-week unit at a time, with approximately 20 hours of study recommended per week, and can begin in any of six study periods throughout the year.

Entry requirements
To apply for the online Graduate Certificate in Nursing Informatics Leadership, you are required to have:
- Completed an AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification; AND
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); OR
- Applicants without an AQF 7 bachelor's degree in nursing (or equivalent qualification) who hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) clinical work experience will be considered for the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Informatics Leadership.
