Aims to take nurses who wish to specialise in the area to be competent in all aspects of wound, ostomy and continence nursing practice.
Course overview
This new, accelerated 12-month master course has been designed to meet changed health industry demands, both across the Australian health sector and globally, that require advanced practice clinicians, clinical leadership and clinical research skills in identified areas of healthcare. The first of its kind in Western Australia, this course combines specialisations in clinical practice with research practice. It is suitable for registered nurses, midwives, paramedics and oral-health therapists wanting to develop distinctive careers involving research activities within clinical settings. You will learn the skills of evidence-informed clinical practice, including relevant health-care policy standards and strategies that enable translation of evidence into practice. You will also explore qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research processes and related ethical considerations for applied health research and evaluation practices.
You will then consolidate your learning with a research project in one of the following specialisations from your graduate certificate:

What you will study

Entry requirements
- Applicants for the Master of Advanced Practice Degree (Coursework) must meet university academic and English language standards.
- Applicants will require a bachelor's, a bachelor's honours degree, a graduate certificate or a graduate diploma in their related field.
- Applicants must also hold three years of experience in their related field post-bachelor's degree.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Fees and FEE-HELP
Indicative fee in 2025: $27,934 (domestic full-fee paying place).
The indicative fee is based on a full-time study load of 200 credits or eight units.
A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:
