Course overview
The Master of Health Care Management (Specialisation) course aims to cultivate excellence in quality, leadership and management in health professionals working in Quality, Safety, Risk or Middle Management roles in acute, community, mental health, primary and aged care public and private sectors.
In the Contemporary Mental Health major, you will develop specialist skills in caring for people with mental health illnesses, meet the professional development needs of graduates interested in specialist mental health practice and be updated on evidence-based therapeutic approaches to care.
Upon completing the course, you will have the capacity and capability to apply these skills in various management positions and become a leader and champion of change.

Entry requirements
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent in a health discipline.
Preparation for the course through previous study or professional experiences will be considered case-by-case.
English language requirements
To study at Murdoch, you must meet a minimum standard in English, which for most courses can be demonstrated by providing evidence that you have completed Year 11 and 12 in Australia at any level if you are a domestic student, or through English proficiency tests, university preparation courses, English language courses, previous tertiary study, or vocational education.

- Middle management (e.g. clinical nurse manager or nurse unit manager).
- Clinical lead (gerontology or contemporary mental health).

- Leadership positions in your specialist area and senior positions in residential care, community care and assessment teams.

Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you only need to pay some of your tuition fees. The student contribution amount is the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
