Entry requirements

Two-year program

You must have a recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline.

1.5-year program

You must have one of the following:

  • A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in health, business or law.
  • A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in any other discipline, plus at least three years full-time (or equivalent) professional experience working in health middle management (or higher).

One-year program

You must have completed QUT's Graduate Diploma in Health Management or Graduate Diploma in Health Management and Leadership within the last seven years.

0.5-year program

You must have completed QUT's Graduate Diploma in Health Management or Graduate Diploma in Health Management and Leadership within the last seven years, plus one of the following:

  • A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in health, business or law.
  • A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in any other discipline, plus at least three years full-time (or equivalent) professional experience working in health middle management (or higher).

Recognition of Prior Learning

You may be able to have your past studies or work experience count as credit towards your QUT course. QUT call this 'advanced standing'. That means you might not have to complete all the units in your course structure. You may be able to graduate sooner. Exemptions are assessed individually – talk to QUT's Course Consultant for more information.

Graduates of this course have been employed in government health departments, public and private hospitals, primary healthcare services, health insurance agencies, consultancy firms, community health services and universities.

Fees and FEE-HELP

Estimated first-year tuition fee in 2026: $29,300 (domestic full-fee paying place).

All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of 96 credit points (normally eight units) per year.

A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:

  • The choice of major or specialisation.
  • Choice of units.
  • Credit from previous study or work experience.
  • Eligibility for government-funded loans.
