The Master of Public Health comprises 12 online subjects (72 credit points in total) - eight core subjects and four electives. You have the option to follow one of the listed specialisation pathways, or you may choose to study a 'no specialisation' pathway and select four additional electives to comprise the total amount of credit points required for this course.

To gain entry into the Master of Public Health course, applicants must have completed a UTS-recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrate the potential to pursue graduate studies.

Applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree but who have extensive relevant work experience in a healthcare or human services field may be considered eligible.

Alternative admissions pathways may be available.

English Language Requirement
The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, Internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.

Your previous studies can be acknowledged as credit towards your online postgraduate studies, provided that it meets relevant course requirements. If you receive a UTS offer of enrolment and you’ve undertaken previous studies at another institution, you may be eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning. UTS doesn’t determine recognition of prior learning until an offer of enrolment is accepted.

Upon successful completion of the Master of Public Health, graduates will have a broad scope of job roles available to them. You will be well equipped to work in a range of public health roles within government or private sectors, as well as in not-for-profit organisations. Disciplines may include areas such as environmental health, epidemiology, health education, health policy, and health promotion.
