Course overview

This course is offered online, full-time or part-time, providing working professionals a convenient way to engage with contemporary global debates and developments in their professional area of interest while upgrading their qualifications. This is a specialist postgraduate qualification consisting of 120 credit points delivered as four courses, taught in English, usually taking 12 months to 2 years of study. The course structure requires the completion of 4 classes in 2 semesters, or for part-time candidates, a combination of Pathophysiology & Health Assessment for Advanced Practice and Global Health Determinants across 4 semesters. While it is not essential, students undertaking the Master of Health – Advanced Nursing stream, particularly, will benefit from being concurrently engaged with industry. You can then take your studies further with a Master's level, where you will engage in an Advanced Nursing pathway, where you will be supported to develop knowledge and skills that can be applied directly to your health practice area. Successful completion will enhance your professional standing for clinical leadership roles within nursing and health practice.

A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:

Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)

The Australian Government allocates a certain number of Commonwealth Supported Places to universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.

If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount - the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.

Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

Your student contribution amount is:

  • Calculated per unit you're enrolled in.
  • Depending on the study areas they relate to.
  • Reviewed and adjusted each year.

HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
