Master of Midwifery Studies (Leadership and Management)

What you will study

To earn the Master of Midwifery Studies (Leadership and Management) program, you must complete eight courses (80 units). Each course is worth 10 units.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be midwives registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

All Applicants must be a Midwife or a Registered Nurse working in a maternity environment in their own country.

All applicants require a minimum of one year's full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in a maternity setting after registration.

Work experience can be identified through a detailed curriculum vitae and a statement of service or signed letters from employers confirming role, duties and period of employment.

English language requirements

Fees and CSP

Indicative annual fee in 2026: $5,303.04 (Commonwealth Supported Places)

Indicative annual fee in 2026: $20,520 (domestic full-fee paying place)

All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a full-time study load of 80 units (normally eight courses) per year.

A student’s annual fee may vary depending on:

• The number of courses studied per term.
• The choice of major or specialisation.
• Choice of courses.
• Credit from previous study or work experience.
• Eligibility for government-funded loans.

You may also need to pay the student services and amenities fee.

Commonwealth Supported Places

The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.

If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you only need to pay some of your tuition fees. The student contribution amount is the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.

Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

Your student contribution amount is:

• Calculated per the courses you're enrolled in.
• Depending on the study areas they relate to.
• Reviewed and adjusted each year.

HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.

FEE-HELP loans are available to assist eligible full-fee paying domestic students with the cost of a university course.
