Designed for professionals who want to address health challenges across national and international settings, this course explores the leadership, systems and strategic decision-making capabilities used in global public health. Entry is open to applicants with a bachelor degree in any discipline or five years of approved work experience.
Core study examines global health leadership, health systems and evidence-informed decision-making, along with economics, finance, governance and funding. You will consider how leaders establish direction, engage stakeholders, negotiate priorities and allocate resources across complex health environments. Your fourth unit is selected from Epidemiology and Biostatistics 1 or Public Health Program Management.
Delivered 100% online through VU’s Block Model, the course involves one seven-week unit at a time and can be completed in eight months of part-time study. There are no exams or textbooks to purchase. Graduates can apply to enter the Master of Public Health with credit. VU is a CAPHIA member and the curriculum is aligned with the CAPHIA Foundation Competencies.
